Identify punch list items, visible defects, or safety concerns.
Ensure the site is clean, accessible, and ready for occupancy, turnover, or listing.
Not a replacement for code inspections or final certificate of occupancy (CO).
🗂️ Key Inspection Areas
1. Site Cleanliness & Final Grading
Trash, nails, construction debris removed.
Final grading directs water away from foundation.
No erosion or drainage concerns post-build.
Sod, mulch, or landscape stabilization completed per plan.
2. Driveways, Walkways & Access
Concrete/asphalt is properly poured, crack-free.
Entry points (stairs, sidewalks) are level and trip hazard-free.
3. Exterior Building Envelope
Siding, brick, or stucco completed with no gaps or damage.
Gutters, downspouts, and rooflines aligned and functioning.
Paint and finishes complete and uniform.
4. Doors & Windows
All installed and sealed.
Operate properly (no sticking or gaps).
Screens, locks, and weatherstripping in place.
5. Utilities & Equipment
HVAC units, meters, backflow preventers, and exterior lighting installed.
Exterior outlets GFCI protected and operable.
Gas/electric/water meters secured and accessible.
6. Garage & Outbuildings (if applicable)
Garage door functional with opener installed.
No damage to drywall, ceiling, or floors.
Detached structures complete and secure.
7. Interior Spot Checks (if permitted)
Walls and ceilings have no visible damage.
Flooring is clean, damage-free, and installed properly.
Smoke detectors, light switches, and visible plumbing functioning (visual test only).
No leaks, odors, or visible mold signs.
8. Final Safety Review
Handrails, guards, and steps installed securely.
No protruding nails, unsecured hardware, or hazards.
Fire extinguishers or signs installed (if commercial).
9. Punch List Identification
Note any incomplete, damaged, or improperly installed items.
Mark locations with tape/flags and document with photos.
